I'm back from my unintentional, month-long blog fast. What was keeping me away, you ask?
I wish I could tell you that I've been 100% productive in the use of my time and have written a best-selling novel in the past month...but I haven't.
It would be neat if I'd spent the past month in the Amazon, preaching the gospel to those who haven't heard...but it would be a lie to tell you that.
What if I'd taken a 30 day vow of silence and felt that blogging would compromise the integrity of this promise...nope.
Alas, the past month has been typical, and without inspiration. I apologize. There is no excuse.
We had an interesting weekend. We got to see family, and experience the "Snow Storm that Rocked the Southeast 2009". The snow started falling Sunday afternoon, and after a family dinner, Zach and I set out for
NGU. This would become one of the scariest car rides I've ever been on (sorry Mom and Cathy..but we made it back in one piece). At points, we could barely see in front of us for the huge snowflakes that were falling directly towards the windshield, and it became increasingly difficult to distinguish between the lines on the road as the snow grew ever deeper. I was dreaming of the sledding to be had on Monday, provided we made it back to school, when we reached a point on 253 about 2 minutes from school. I looked out the window and could not believe my eyes....IT WAS RAINING!
Everywhere in the Southeast, on ALL sides of
NGU was blanketed with some of the heaviest snow we have seen in years.
Simpsonville got about 6 inches....
Saluda got a foot. North
Greenville University received a light dusting...a tease. There was only some sledding to be had, and our day off from school (due to the
icy conditions all around us) was actually spent studying. Oh the irony.
I'd like to make a habit of this blogging thing...
